Syed is a professional with over 29 years of experience in Civil Engineering design and construction. He holds degrees in Water Resources Management, M. B. A. I. T, Civil Engineering, and an Advanced Diploma in Transportation Engineering from various countries. He has worked with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and the Ministry of Transportation in Ontario, conducting traffic counts and preparing reports, as well as being involved in traffic sign procurement and pavement design.
